Promotion Packet Audit

Checks a merged faculty promotion packet against the required-item list, flags anything missing and the CV-rank kickback, and reads the licence and DEA numbers and their expiry dates. It opens as a window on your own computer — pick the folder, run it, then do the sign-off with the scanned page shown right next to the number it read. No model, no internet, and nothing about a candidate ever leaves the machine.

Getting it running

1. Download the ZIP and unzip it anywhere — your Desktop is fine.
2. Inside the folder, double-click setup.bat. Do this once. It checks Python, installs what it needs, and prints exactly what loaded — including which of the two scan readers your Python version needs. Needs Python 3.10 or newer.
3. Make a folder for the packets. Put each candidate's merged PDF in it, plus a candidates.csv listing who they are and what they're up for. The ZIP ships candidates.example.csv — rename a copy to candidates.csv and edit it in Excel.
4. Double-click gui.bat. The tool opens in your browser: pick the packets folder, click Audit packets, read the results, and work the Review tab — each item shows the page itself beside the digits the tool read, with Confirm / Flag a problem / Skip buttons. It is served from your own machine only; nothing is sent anywhere. Close the black console window when you're done.
5. Prefer no window? Double-click run.bat for the audit alone (it writes audit-report.html), or review.bat to do the same sign-off in the console. Both do the same checks as the window.
